Units And Scaling Factor

1 DXF unit

The unit (or scaling factor) specifies the physical unit of one DXF unit.
DXF files are unitless a distance of e.g. 10 units may correspond to 10 microns, 10 inches, or even 10 meters. It is therefore very important that you specify the meaning of the DXF units. Select microns if you want a distance of 1 to represent 1 micron in the DXF file. This does not limit your drawing's resolution to one micron because DXF supports fractional units.

Scale drawing

This field allows the user to scale the imported drawing by any value. This can also be used to 'size' a design.

Arc Resolution

Precision

Some drawing entities don't have an equivalent in the other supported formats. LinkCAD converts such entities to polylines. This setting allows you to control the precision of this conversion. Either specify an absolute tolerance value or a fix the number of polygon vertices per full circle. Setting an absolute tolerance value is preferred because it dynamically adapts the polygon complexity according to the object size. Use a large precision value to limit the size of the polygons.

Layer Options

Obey BYBLOCK/BYLAYER object attributes

Checking this option causes LinkCAD to correctly interpret the color by layer (BYLAYER) or color by block (BYBLOCK) attributes of DXF blocks. Entities in these blocks are not placed on the layer on which they have been created, but on the layer on which the block has been inserted.
